Viktoria Tolstoy"When you sing, the sun rises." Pat Metheny

Without a doubt, the Swede Viktoria Tolstoy is one of the most beautiful voices in jazz. Her great-great-grandfather was the legendary Russian national poet Leo Tolstoy. Even the very young Viktoria made her way through Stockholm's jazz clubs and played with leading Swedish jazz musicians. At only 22 years old and with her second album, she became a pop star overnight in her homeland, which laid the foundation for the collaboration with Esbjörn Svensson and e.s.t.: He produced and wrote the songs for "White Russian", the first Scandinavian record to be released on the legendary Blue Note label. Since then, Tolstoy has established himself as one of the leading voices of contemporary jazz. She presents her current album "Stealing Moments", which contains songs written by long-time friends and companions such as Nils Landgren, Ida Sand, Wolfgang Haffner, Cæcilie Norby, Lars Danielsson, Iiro Rantala and Jan Lundgren especially for Viktoria and her voice. Esbjörn Svensson is also involved in a special way: he wrote the instrumental composition "Hands Off", for which his wife Eva wrote lyrics. Viktoria's clear, powerfully radiant voice is stunning, plus her energy and lightness, which define her as a person and which is transferred to the listeners. Her message to the audience, based on the title of her current album "Stealing Moments": "Let me steal a little time from you to listen to this music." We are happy to comply.
